He began practicing law at the McDaniel Anderson & Stephenson Law Firm in Raleigh, NC focusing on insurance defense. PW then became a partner at Murray Apple Tindal Wang Glidewell & Cairo where the majority of his practice involved civil and domestic cases. PW and his wife love the mountains of North Carolina and decided to return to Boone to raise their family and practice law.

The Glidewell family has a long history of attorneys, including his grandfather and great-grandfather. PW’s great-grandfather, Powell W. Glidewell, Sr., was the attorney for Alma Petty Gatlin whose story has been written in a book called Murder for Breakfast, written by Phil Link.

PW has been married to Mary Kelly Glidewell for almost eleven years and they have two children, Powell and Libby. They are members of the Boone United Methodist Church. Mary Kelly is the Vice-President and President-Elect for the Watauga County Junior Service League. The entire family loves what Watauga County has to offer and enjoys biking, fishing, and sports.
